Transforming a 1940’s building to a 2011 high standard

The Electrical Power Integration Centre (EPIC) building involved the conversion of an existing 1940’s structure into a world leading aircraft electrical systems testing and development centre. The project took a largely derelict and unused former industrial building and brought it up to current low energy standards, incorporating a complex electrical infrastructure to support the testing of aircraft power and control systems.

The innovative use of fresh air free cooling has avoided the need for large-scale refrigeration normally required to dissipate heat from load banks and test cells.
