4 a better work-life balance

Our working practice is changing for the better.

In recognising that our success is centred on our Team, we are committed to giving them the best so that they bring their best. Following the published evidence, we have become an accredited Gold Standard 4 Day Working Week Employer, not a trial, but a permanent change.

We believe that this will:

  • Improve our quality of life

  • Make us more productive

  • Maintain and enhance quality of service

  • Stimulate business growth

  • Help us attract new team members

  • Reduce our carbon footprint

We have always strived to be “ahead of the curve”, to be innovators and to do things well. We have led the way with biofuels, we designed one of the first energy “A Rated” buildings, we also created one of the largest industrial clean rooms in Europe, we are extremely proud of our track record.

Alongside this, we have a strong “soft side”, we have won a National Award for collaboration as well as taking social responsibility seriously through our work with a school in Uganda and hosting community energy saving workshops to help people struggling with rising fuel bills.

All of this has only been possible through a group of amazing and loyal colleagues, most of whom have been with us more than 15 years.

How does it work?

Our Engineers will benefit from working a 4-day, 32 hour week without a pay reduction, taking either a Monday or a Friday off. This will be consistent each week and will provide continuity as well as ensuring everyone is together for 3 days of the week.

The change will make time for life admin to happen outside of work and improve the work–life balance of our Team and their families.

What does our four-day week mean for our clients?

The change will be largely invisible, we will just be even brighter and happier people (not that we aren’t already!). In more practical terms, we note that nearly all of our meetings occur midweek so these will be unaffected and if it is crucial, an Engineer can swap their extra day.

We’re here for you!

We will continue to operate the business 5 days a week and through the change, further grow our capacity.

Please call us if you would like to chat this through.
